Just got and an EOS 1D. I'm confused when i set the camera to shoot RAW+JPG, the card holds the same amount of frames as it does shooting JPG. Shooting RAW+JPG should give you alot less frames, right?
Question number two. Once i figure out how to shoot raw and JPG simultaniously, how do i convert the RAW images. The canon software is horribe.
Thanks in advance

I can't answer the JPEG question, my cameras do the same!. I tend to just shoot raw, which gives me about 200 shots on a 1GB microdrive.
For converting raw images, I'm using Breezebrowser V2.5, downloadable from www.breezesys.com It seems pretty good, a big improvement on the Canon software, and it's cheap!
You could try Capture One DSLR from www.phaseone.com This is good, a little complicated and a bit expensive. Or if you wait another 6 weeks or so, Canon are bringing out a browser for the 1D and 1Ds that will be available on their website, and it'll be free!!
Hope this helps,
marc.

I think your problem may be with the QUALITY selection on the rear LCD.
Even if you have RAW + JPEG set on the MENU, you can specify JPEG only by using the QUALITY selection.
If I set RAW + Large Smooth I get a reading of 139 exposures on a 1 GB microdrive.
If I set RAW only, I get 210.
If I set JPEG LS w/o RAW I get 424.
The thing is that the lower QUALITY selection can override the MENU.
I hope this helps.
