This is my first submission. I am an amateur hobby photographer. This picture was actually a candid, unplanned shot. She walked up to me as I was sitting by the pool and I snapped the picture. When I first saw how it turned out I loved it. Just curious what anyone else thinks. I did very minimal PP other than converting it to black and white.

Camera used was the A60. Yes, not the highest end equipment, but I've been able to get some pretty nice shots with this camera. The way I see it, what makes a great picture is what's in front of the camera and not so much what's inside the camera. (That's what I keep telling myself whenever I start wishing I have a higher-end camera, anyway!) :p

Edit: I added the original color version for comparison.

I like the photo
its an intersting composition and the expression of the model is a classic candid moment, and of course her beauty lends to the atmosphere as well

I too like the shot, I would have tried to raise saturation for alittle bluer sky.

It's a black and white pic, so it would be kind of difficult to get a bluer sky! :D

Pocobernie,

very nice shot ... and welcome to the forum :D

I really like her look of confidence in the image ... well, hard to attribute that to your photographic skills, but you surely pressed the shutter button in the right moment

Do you have the colour image as well?

Best regards,
Andy

IMO the colour image works best as that sky makes image more vibrant, but then I'm not a big fan of B&W.
