Saw this today:

It looks like Ilford is the last major supplier of B&W paper.

With all the announcement of things that they're discontinuing, one has to wonder when Kodak is going to discontinue Kodak.

If that happens, would 'yellow' cease to be a color?

I read an article about two years ago (or so) that the current CEO or major shareholder or someone with actual power over Kodak had bought a controlling interest and was chopping Kodak into little pieces on purpose.

It sounded like he was trying to elimiate all but the highest profit percentage centers of the company. Making money not good enough, had to make a large percentage of money.

So after reading this article I have not been surprised at a lot of Kodak actions over the past few years in terms of company disentigrating.

As to B+W paper, Kodak has decided to leave the film realm behind and is slowly devesting itself of those film only portions of the company. The fact they are doing it as slow as they have been is what has been actually amazing me.

Just what I have read and been given to understand.

Have Fun,

Yellow is soon to be replaced by a much better color, a sort of off white with a red stripe going through it. Thats the rumor anyway.

They are doing WHATEVER they can to slap their name on digital photography products. Flash media cards that won't even fit in the digital cameras they slap their brand name on. It's a shame because they most likely don't manufacture any digital products with their name on it since they are a film company. And since digital photography is all in the camera, sensor, and lens they are SOL.

Kodak in April reported a first-quarter loss of $142 million...
The largest maker of black-and-white photo paper, Ilford Imaging of Britain, went into bankruptcy last year, emerging this year after a management-led buyout.
Germany's AgfaPhoto GmbH filed for bankruptcy last month.

Not a happy trend!
