View Full Version : Help With Flower Closeups

I am having trouble with close-ups with my CanON 70-200MM L 2.8 LENS. I am "trying" to keep my shutter speed at or greater than my focal length. It "seems" that when I take pictures of the same color flowers (meaning there is not much contrast), I don't get sharp, clear pictures.
I realize that hand holding is not the optimal way of taking closeups, but with an IS lens, I should have some leeway. Seemingly not the case.
Can someone make some recommendations.

What are your other settings? Are you using a flash?

pizelli,
A tripod and/or use of flash should help :)

IS is useless if the flowers themselves are moving (wind). what is your shutter speed?
