I want a new small camera for the bag. I have an old Ixus that has a green problem every so many shots.

Anyone know how good the Canon PowerShot SD1200IS is? it's pink so my kid wants it LOL

TIA

It shoots good pictures, the image stabilizing is nice. It doesn't have too many functions, but it it is ready to shoot when you whip it out, start up time is fast. If you want a bunch of manual functions, this is not really the camera for you. If you want a simple but quality point and shoot, go for it! I got this for my wife recently. How old is your kid?

he's 4.5, very into pink ;)

But if I buy a new one for the bag he will get the old Ixus which would make him very very happy :)

You know those kids cameras are a lot of money too!!!

The one he will be getting is unsellable anyway and easy to use. he takes good pics sometimes to. Must be luck LOL

I bought the SD1000 for my wife beginning of the year so she can take shots and video of our son who was born in May and so far so good. Great point-n-shoot and it uses regular AA batteries also so if you go out on vacation for a period of time you don't have to worry about having charged batteries. We use rechargeable AA batteries and they last a very long time.
