I had a casting call on MM and to my surprise I had a lot of responses including even a MUA. I know that 75% of them with disappear into thin air before long, but still if i want to have a MUA present I can not do 1o different sessions.
How do you normally arrange a multi-model shoot. I actually do not plan to have more than one in the same frame (well, not the original plan anyway) so how do I arrange all of them at the same time. Or is it a bad idea?

I do not need to do all in one day and 10 was a figure of speech (but it actually could be 10) . Even with 2-3 at a time, how do you manage them?

Stagger the times so there is overlap, maybe 30 minutes or so--they can use the waiting time to apply makeup, wardrobe, etc. Expect at least a 50 percent flake rate among those who absolutely swear on their mother's grave they'll be there. At least one will be very late. MUAs flake as much as models, if not more. Just make sure to keep things moving and acknowledge everyone so nobody is sitting around idle for an hour.

I stagger them too. Sometimes you will have a couple that want to shoot together. Sometimes you end up with several in the studio at once. Usually that is OK sometimes it doesn't work.

My last studio shoot was 10 models over 2 days. The shooting pace was more intense the first day due to the models' schedules so I staggered shoot times so that as I was finishing up with one girl, the next one would arrive and would get into costume and makeup. In three cases, 6 of the girls wanted to shoot with with another girl (three sets of two girls), which wasn't a problem at all. The earlier girl stayed over, we did the two girl shoot, and the later girl finished up her individual shots during the 2nd part of her shoot. The key is timing and planning in advance.

Only if the client has hired more than one for the shoot. ;)
