I am having trouble getting this photo to look good compressed....but I am loading it anyway. I love the look between them as he walks her down the 'aisle'. The sun was hanging low and bright gold and the shadowed areas were very deep. I was working hard to find a spot where I could capture them in a decent light.

Simply a wonderful shot. Even in profile, you can see Dad's pride.

Me, I'd be a blubbering mess.

My tender emotions still prevent me from watching Bambi.

ok, way too much information. LOL

that's a beautiful family photograph Maureen
wonderful shot of them both

why the professionals have such a hard job
all the things you mention, and more, which have to be watched out for when taking wedding shots.

right now the father and daughter image grab the scene and it's a such a lovely picture of them both

Congratulations. I just photographed my first wedding, man, that wasn't easy. Good job. Did you use flash on the shot?

Nope, shot at an aperture of 3.0 and lightened a couple of shades in PS. I think it is Skips's favorite photo of the day and it looks great here at my house printed out as an 8x10.

Thanks everyone........ it was a spoecial moment for certain and I am so glad I caught it.

I think a flash would have fixed a lot of it for you. I figured you didn't, but for weddings, I think its safer to use flash than go without, just from my own experience like 2 weekends ago.

I think the flash would have over-exposed the dress so I opted not to use it. Again, the finished product (printed) came out really nice. I did use the flash for part of the ceremony but there was a little more distance at that point.

I took my daughter her wedding album today.... 90 8x10 prints and she was thrilled with them. That's all that counts in the end, isn't it?

Thanks for looking and commenting.
