Looking at purchasing a light meter, found a couple on ebay but was wondering if anyone had any experience with either Sekonic L-558r or L358 or even had any other suggestions????

I've had the 358 for over a year now and love it. I've used it more as a flash meter than a light meter. I think it would serve you well but others can give their views.

The only thing that I don't care for about my L-358 is that there is no place in the supplied pouch to put the sensor adapter (dome or lens) that you're not using. Also, the separate (optional) spotmeter adapter is a little difficult to use because, like above, there is no place to put BOTH of the standard sensor adapters. If I had to do it all over again, I would get one of the units with the built-in 1-degree spotmeter adapter. The L-358 is a great meter, though, even with the parts storage issues.

If money is no object get the L558. It is beautiful. The 1 degree spotmeter has its own digital readout. The Pocket Wizard Module goes in the back like the L358. If all you need is a good flash/incident meter, the L358 is excellent.
