Did the search thing without finding anything, but I could have missed a thread.

Hit the swap meet a couple of weeks ago and bought a Manfrotto 390 tripod for $5.00. Everything works. It all seems in good shape. It is, however, dirty. What's the best way to clean the grunge off it and lube it?

Water? If it doesn't have any cloth/foam on it, I'd probably just hose it off and use car wash cleanser (like Meguiars Gold Class).

How about for lubing it?

Never been near my 055 with any grease or oil of any kind. If yours has the same plastic leg locks as the 055 then theres no need.

If there is any problem, Triflo is the overall best small machine parts lubricant.

Hose it off, dry it out, clean out the internals. You can use a touch of lithium grease and you are probably good to go.

Thanks, everyone.
