Okay, so my wife is pregnant. Got some great advise on pictures at the hospital, lenses that work best in these conditions, etc. I know its not a lens question, but go tohttp://www.vanwyk.net/baby and help me pick out a name for our baby! It will only take you like 5 seconds to do.
Okay...to make this thread more relevant also tell me what kind of flash I should buy for my 50d :-) (The built in flash seems to actually do pretty well...compared to a point and shoot)
[Note: I am American by birth, but my wife was born in the Soviet Union. We try to pick Russian names that are not too strange, and that wont yield swirlies in grade school]

All the flash questions in the world won't make this thread relevent to the lens forum...

What do you mean? You think I suck at building websites? I put this together in like 10 minutes. My wife is a master painter...I built her http://www.canvasexpressions.com to sell her art...
Take it back!

No, the web site looks fine. I was referring to your skillz at selecting the correct forum to start this thread. (you know there's a "POTN lounge" for this kind of thread, right?)

Well, I am new and probably no one will recognize me. The only place I have really been is in the lens forum. I thought it might increase the odds of someone saying "oh I have seen dutchswan here before".

It's all good and one of the mods may even move this thread to the right place for you.
Congratulations on the kid, BTW.

We waited until we knew the kid for a couple of weeks then a name suggested itself to us or maybe we got tired of referring to him as "the baby".

Well, I am part Russian too, and the good news is that since the men and women pretty much look alike, you can go with any Russian name you like.
Of course, you can tell the difference between Russian men and women. The women only have to shave their beards once per day.

1. I can't vote for boy and girl? I vote for girl and it says I can't vote for boy's name, I already voted! :(
2. Why two names? (in parenthesis too?)

You'd better name the kid "Lens" to keep the thread on topic.

I am reading this thread and somehow I am lost - maybe I am drunk - but I wonder what from? My head is spinning! Please, please tell me I somehow mis-read this - the OP is not really asking us to vote on the name of his kid - just tell me I am totally wasted and I'll feel better. This must be the weirdest question EVER posted on POTN?! Oh man, I really need to get a drink now:o:rolleyes::o:o
