My daughters HS team had a fantastic season but lost in the Tournament of Champions game by one goal. The following sequence is a goal and celebration by our human highlight film and just a sophmore Alli. She was one of the leading scorers in the state. This pulled our team to within one goal with about 1:30 left in the game.
Setting up for the shot:

Nice clean shots - good color and good focus. I shot only one womens lacrosse match and didn't have a clue what I was doing - keeper rate was really low. Fortunately I figured some stuff out before I was called on to do the mens playoffs and I also copied what some people who did know what they were doing.
You may want to lend a hand on this thread.... seems you've had some success and could share advice.

Great shots !
Hey, I do not know anything about lacrosse, but have found myself watching it on TV whenever it pops up on ESPN. How come the girls don't wear helmets and instead, those cooky glasses ? Is the mens game that rougher ? Again, total idiot about the game, but would like to learn more about it.

Cappy,
The girls game has very limited checking. There is also a greater emphasis on stick control. You can only check the other players stick (try to knock the ball out) with your stick going away from the other player. You are also responsible for making sure you do not hit the other player with your stick or ball on a pass or shot. Following is a picture of the result of not controling your stick well, or maybe a little of sticking your head where you shouldn't. This is why they wear the eye protection....Don

Thanks for the info, Don.
So, I take it that if a player hits another player with the ball or her stick, play is dead and the ball is awarded to the other team ?
I have the utmost respect for lacrosse players; getting hit with that ball must hurt like a mother..... I am happy that I played football for years and had the extra padding !
Have a great weekend....
