I have a Canon EF 55-200mm USM lens that is very loose, with the camera around my neck the zoom slides out very freely to the full zoom position without touching it.
It's still under warranty, but is there an easy fix without sending it back to Canon?

That's called lens creep, and it happens on many normal zoom lenses. In order to tighten it up, the lens must be disassembled.

i saw a little thing in junes pop photo about this..
if you take a small bungie..and you put it somewhere where it doesn't bother focus ect..
you see how long it needs to be and then cut off the metals parts and stich it together with a needle and thread and it should stay..
i havent personally tried this..but you should..not that expensive
