EF-S 10-22 pricing

i read recently, maybe in pop photo, that the ef-s price should drop decently over the next year, as it is currently overpriced.

i like that lens a lot but can't afford it. just wondering how much lens prices drop over time (for an EF-S) lens. its currently going for $700.

Like any hot, popular, new product the price will stay high for a while. Then when the high demand drops and sales drop their will be some price competition and prices will probably go down 10-15%. But I wouldn't expect a huge reduction like 25% until there is a replacement or update coming out.
