This pic was taken at a local Pioneer village on my daughters school field trip. Critiques are more than welcome.

Very nice image ... cool PS work - looks like a vintage image.

Do you have more images of the steam engine? Everybody loves those, here on the forum :D

that part looks like a tiny travelling cottage of sorts

the left top side of the picture is a little blown out

it's a beautiful locomotive

Very nice work with PS.....makes the image actually look period to the locomotive.

Okay please stop it, I'm starting to :o The image was shot in jpg mode as I took over 150 pics at the village and with my small memory card I couldn't use RAW mode as I'd have preferred. The village was actually quite fascinating with over 40 19th century structures that were torn down and then rebuilt there at the village. Everything from a blacksmith shop, a couple of churches, school houses, general stores etc. And of course the train pictured here. They also have the original train station house and a small section of track to go with it. The PS work was rather quick and dirty. B&w conversion using calculations and then used a film grain action I found on Adobe's sharing site. IIRC I lowered the opacity of this layer to about 20% as the original look of the film grain was REALLY grainy. Here's a pic of the train in colour....

and the blown out part is not blown out any more
the white rims on the wheels look better too
