View Full Version : Black-necked Stilts - fight shots

While I've was waiting for the Black-necked Stilts down at the Salton Sea to have their babies I practiced flight shots. Out of about an easy 100+ shots, this is the best of the lot from a few weekends ago. And after two weekends in 100+ degree heat shooting black & white moving objects in the blazing sun, I've concluded that I must be nuts. Sometimes I swear I can hear these guys laughing as they fly circles over my head watching me twirl around... almost falling out of my sneakers.

Awesome pics! And an interesting bird. What can they eat with beaks like that - Chinese?
