I was out taking pics today, look at the LCD screen to check histogram and low and behold a tiny little bug crawls across the screen.. ON THE INSIDE! I sat the camera down on the grass last night (won't do that again) maybe that is how he got in.
I would have thought it was more airtight than that or I guess it could have climbed in when I laid it down(briefly) on the table outside while I was changing lenses.
What do I do? No problems so far.
It is under warranty until October. Will they cover such a thing or do I wait until it causes a problem and then send it in?
Any suggestions for getting it out? I have never really fooled aroung inside the camera, not even to clean the sensor(haven't needed to yet).

There's a plastic cover over the actual LCD screen, and it can be removed by the user. Unfortunately I don't know how to do it, so maybe google it, or hopefully someone else around here will be able to help out.

Perhaps you can train it to clean the sensor for you. ;)
Thanks for the warning. I would not have expected something like that to happen.

I've read that the rear LCD cover can easily be removed with something like a small suction cup.
Gently press the cup onto the cover and gently pull; the cover should pop off.
Then press it back into place.

the lcd cover is just fixed with some double sided tape and comes off very easy if you do it gently.

Spray some RAID in there before he takes a dump on the CMOS sensor. J/K. Just try to remove the clear cover and take him out.

I guess I wasnt clear, he is not visible under the lcd anymore, I think he is inside the camera.

kinda sounds like one of those horror movies where the killer is inside the house....but where??? sorry to hear this. i had a bug climb into my laptop the first week i had it. freaked me out too. we still have one sitting under the "protective" covering of our big screen tv, cause i can't figure out how to get it off.

Of course I was kidding :) How about putting the camera face down without the lens for a day or two in the hopes that the bug comes out on its own? You could place your camera inside a Ziploc bag to avoid any more bugs and dirt from getting in there.

ddelallatra, I knew you were kidding. Excellent idea about taking lens off in a bag and and hoping he comes out. I will try it.
Thanks

Well . . a number of years ago I had a tiny bug get into my Nikon F3 film camera. He was crawling across the ground glass. The prism on the F3 is completely removable so it was easy to perform a bugectomy. Although the prism is not removable on your camera I bet that if you have a little patience nature will take its course and the bug will expire. After all, he should have nothing to eat or drink in there.
Maybe you could speed things up by focusing the camera on a closeup of a can of Raid. The bug might then expire of a heart attack! Just joking of course.

Put your ear close to the camera after...
You might hear him scream RAID! just before he explodes. ;)
