I like it, but the support in the foreground is too much for me.

I understand it was necessary to get the 3 swings lined up as they are, but the image would be better without it.

That, and getting the background more out of focus.

I like the shot. But I think you need to change your DOF. If you can take the picture again and post it.

Three things wrong, tonal qualty, "flat," composition, "bad" and subject, "what subject", retake add punch to image, dont get posts in shot, isolate one seat :-) well you asked

The b&w conversion is fine. You got an interesting composition, and a lot of texture. I think if you were to make the foreground swing the subject, and have the the toddler swings just out of the DOF, it may have more impact. You could then give it a title like "Graduation" or "Looking Back". As it is now it doesn't really tell a story, and I think that is what this picture needs to do.
