Does anyone have any experience with this printer? I'm currently looking to pick something up for under $200 that can do 8x10 prints and right now this is my most likely choice. Unless I hear that there is something much better in the price range I'll probably own one by tomorrow actually.

Often the differences between low end printers is only print speed, i.e. number of nozzles. # of ink tanks may also differ but usually picoliter sizes, resolution, and quality can be identical from $100 printers all the way up to $300. More nozzles results in faster printing. So if you want to pay more for faster printing, do so.

I have time on my hands, I just want to make sure I get good quality so I don't have to keep driving to the local camera shop to get prints made. I'm gonna go shopping tomorrow and I'll see if there is anything else I like, then I'll be back with a new printer or more questions and possibly both.

A photography with 40 years experience, 10+ years digital, gave a presentation for my photography club last week. He and a friend went to see Canon, and used all of their printers from the cheapest to them most expensive. He said he could barely tell them apart, and bought the cheapest one.
Maybe the ones with 6 colors of ink will do a bit better than the 3 color ones, it depends how fussy you are. I have an ip5000 and it's really good, but I still use a commercial lab for anything that i'm going to frame or hang on the wall. Plus commercial labs can be cheaper than printing at home.

I am currently using a Pixma 8500 (8 inks) and it is an excellent printer. Very fast, good ink usage and stunning results.
The 6000 should offer the same but with 6 ink carts.

Sounds good, thanks for the input guys. I'm on my way out the door now to pick one up.
