I'm thinking about buying one or two photography magazines.
What are your favorites?

Silvershotz, hands down best. But it concentrates purely on the photographs and photographer biographies. Every other mag just seems to repeat themes over and over again and copy from each other - frankly, they are IMHO mostly sh*t.

I suggest you go to Barnes and Noble or Borders where you can browse through all them. Then subscribe to the ones you like best. As you mature in in your abilities, you can change subscribtions if the themes are seemingly repititious.

Now that I came back to this thread I noticed that the original poster only has 8 posts starting 12/2009, so I think that you would benefit from magazines with general technical advice realated on photography. Advice from Neptunerain was good - browse through the mags and choose.

I used to enjoy al lthe magazines that today seem to have more pages of advertising rather than educational articles...this goes for all magazines not just photo mags. ....shutterbug on line or most of the newsstand magz are available on line as well..

Lens Work is nice ... there are some British mags that are nice too.

In my opinion the UK mags blow the US mags away. Go to Barnes and Noble and pick what suits your ability level best. As far as being repetitious...I am pretty hard headed and sometimes I need to learn the same thing over and over until I have that "Aha" moment.

I got burnt out on all the photo mags due to the overkill of ads. Now its just Photoshop User.
