View Full Version : What type of mouse is this?

This little guy is a resident in our garden. We love his big ears and big eyes, he's so cute. If you know what type he is, please let me know.

Oh, taken with the 300D and the Sigma 105mm macro by the way. If you sit still for long enough wildlife like this will come right up to you!

Looks like a deer mouse to me though I'm by no means a mouse expert. I remember seeing little guys like this all the time at my aunt's cottage. Sweet-looking little things, eh?

The wood mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus) is common in the UK. It seems a likely suspect.

Just looks like our common feild mouse.. there all pretty cute untill you get into the New York.. then there just freaking scary!

Thanks guys, we'd wrongly guessed that it was a dormouse but now we know better.

Hehe, now that would have been cool! The dormouse despite its name doesn't really look very mousy, its got a bushy tail a bit like a minature squirrel. :)
