the cows in pic 1 & 3 didn't come to see me. cow2 was very curious and came to say hi inmediately. I touched her nose (all moist and with pieces of grass) then she went back to eat grass right in front of me (she got hungry). I am not sure if cow2 was a 'she.' it had a single thing sticking out (the others had nothing) but no horns (I thought that male had horns). the head was more rounded (more like knuckle-head).

A single thing sticking out... where?
If it's low on the belly, right behind the navel, that's where the penis comes out, but only when he's "ready for action." There is generally a tuft of long hair at that spot, though. Further back between his hind legs is where you would find the "family jewels." They're pretty hard to miss on a bull (baseball-sized). If you look closely and all you see is a small wrinkly pouch, then it's a steer.
A steer is a male who has, well, had his mind changed from "a$$ to grass" at a young age. Steers are raised for meat, not breeding, so taking away their reproductive instincts keeps them eating and growing, rather than running around getting the females pregnant. Without testosterone they're also less aggressive and not so dangerous around people.
Horns on cattle are not an indication of gender. It's not like deer where only the males grow antlers. Some breeds grow horns, some don't. Among the horned breeds, farmers generally remove the horns when the calf is young so they don't injure each other or the people who care for them.
Looking at the photos you posted, #3 is definitely a cow. Can't really tell on the other two.
I hope you don't mind my little agricultural lesson. I wouldn't have said anything but you indicated some confusion on the subject. Bottom line: I love cattle and I don't get to see them as often as I used to, so I always enjoy pictures of them. Thanks for sharing!

thanks a lot for your explanation, I needed it.

I think I decoded the message ;) successfully. cow2 had some grown tall grass in the center of the dart-board but no visible spheroids. my conclusion: it must be a steer ;)
cheers

Think so, arpi.
This page has a pretty good picture of an angus bull.

A little more ag. ed. - Those are angus beef cattle. Perhaps you will meet them again at the supermarket.

ten four
it had the same head but the extra ammunition was missing. an added observation from the pic in link: it looks like there is a great distance between the grass and the ammunition...

the cow had crossed a small stream and got through ( or over) a small fence
and the others were not able to follow
they made a bit of a scene while their friend was awol with me for the short while
