Tough (for me) situation. By the time you can see the falls you are way too close to photograph it with any equipment I own. I tried a stitch of two vertically and was somewhat pleased with the outcome. I will also post the two separate images used in the stitch. C/C desired and appreciated. Re-edit is OK.

Thank you. It is a challenge but fun.

You know what? I prefer the upper section, unstiched. I just like not knowing how big the waterfall is exactly.

I actually like it a lot:) . The way the water "separates" the picture two thirds down. Plus the colors and all.

Very nice work, Dave. I should know this, but where are these falls exactly?

Thanks Montreal, I took several of just the upper falls and there was some discussion in the house as to which looked best. Once the stitch was done it was decided to post all of them...

Thank you sparker1. The falls are about 15 miles north of Carson, Washington. Easy hike. You can read about it here:

Thanks a lot, Dave. I've saved the web page for reference on my next visit to the NW.

That's relatively in my backyard... I need to get out there, I've bookmarked it too. Thanks for sharing the images and link!

Well Dave, for the gear you`ve got you`ve done not a bad job here mate.
What i would do,i would exclude the top 1/4 of the picture (the burnt out sky) and try to darken down some parts of the water.
I would also consider of keeping just the upper part of the first picture as the top fall looks superb just on its own.

And the upper and lower section of the stitch...

Does not seem like they are. Perspective/scale is different and the lower falls is too smooth compared to the stiched version. I agree with the other comments the stich is nicely done. But overall needs a little more pizazz.

Not sure how this thread got revived - it's a bit over a year old. The latest trip to Falls Creek Falls was yesterday, July 8, 2006. There is another thread for that one here: http://www.photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=189640
