I am using Corel Photo paint 11 and just recently have been having a little trouble with it, mainly crashing. I am not sure if it is just the size of the pictures, as i shoot in Large JPEGs so I can crop if I need to. But then when I dont need to crop that much is it better to resize the picture down to a 10x15cm or just keep using the save button. I have read that if you save alot on one photo it reduces the ouput quality, is that true? (I always keep the origional)

Any suggestions about this problem.
I have even considered changing programs but they are not cheap even though I have down loaded the Adobe trial program for 30 days I think at this stage I prefer Corel maybe only because I know it and know where everything is, but it has certain windows that seem better, like having a on screen comparison with a lot of the adjustments and filters.

sorry just realized wrong forum :o

Haven't used it in years... But I used to to some degree,. though at the time I used JASC more still.

For more affordable options (as opposed to PSCS2) you could look at either paint shop pro,. or preferably,. Photoshop Elements 3

I'd recomend you spoend any time learning a new program on Photoshop.. be it CS or Elements.. In the long run,. where Post procesing is concerned,. all roads lead to Photoshop.

I use PhotoPaint 9, which I actually prefer to PhotoShop CS2 (for most things). I have heard about problems with PhotoPaint 11 - have you downloaded the Service Pack? Since PhotoPaint 12 is now current, you might not be able to.

For saving, if you save to a lossless format like TIF, CPT, or PSD, you won't lose any quality. If you save as a JPG file, you will lose some quality with each save, so its best to not save as a JPG until your very last step (and even then, you should save a copy as one of the lossless formats in case you want to go back and re-edit your photo).
