Have just received my tiffen lens, and was wondering about focussing problems, i.e. do you have to use manual focus.

Haven't yet got used to all of the manual controls, but have a reasonably good idea.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Don't know what shipping is like from US to canada, but bought my adapter from CKC in the US. Took 3-4 days to get here. They do the lenses as well.

Hi, I'm still quite new to additional filter/ lens attachment, so I'm not sure about vignetting with tiffen 2.0x lens. Did you encounter any vignetting with full wide setting?

Took a few shots at the weekend as a test. At full wide, I'd say around 10% was 'lost'. Any close-up shots I had to back-away. Then again, it would have been easier to take the lense off.

Tiffen recommend using at full telephoto, but it seems OK from when you lose the vignette upto full zoom.

Haven't had time to look in depth at the test photo's, but any prob's I'll post them.

Late edit - just remembered

As a test, took a picture at wide, then at full zoom, then added the lense at full zoom for a couple more. The camera was reporting camera shake, (was using auto)and the shots were blurred. Set the ISO to 100 and came in OK.

I also had a circular polariser on

Paul? I assume that you tried to focus with ISO50 setting when you got camera shake warning. Is that right? I was thinking whether it is caused by your circular pol which caused even less light to come into lens.

Anyway just want to check with the rest if they happen to use kenko wide and telephoto lens, MD205S in particular. It was sold at US$47 for both Wide and Tele (quite cheap I guess). But I do not know of its quality. You can check the website at http://www.thkphoto.com/info/pr011303.html

Any comment on this lens?

NB: Btw they sold as digital video lens set. Do we need different set of lens for digital camera?

I need to check the Exif info on the shots and take some more test photos. I'll let you know then.
