The 'Great Barrier Reef' opal came to our town and I was sent to photograph it.

I used the Jewellers shop lights and corrected the colours to preserve the colours.

I had two trained Gorillas either side of me in in case I decided to 'pocket' it.

It is worth £1,200,000 apparently

He wasnt keen to let me take it outside.

Beautiful colours. I'm not surprised they wouldn't let you take it outside though !

Colors are truly amazing.

I owned an Opel once. Didn't look this good but it did cost about the same to maintain...:lol:

They are amazing colours so beautiful that it looks almost too colourful to be natural, looks like it fell from another planet. Great photo.

Well, this gem is from Australia after all and believe me IT IS ANOTHER PLANET! Nice capture of the myriad colours Phil.
