Hi everybody
Go easy on me as this is the first time I have posted pictures for your comments.The attached two pictures were taken of professionals competing for a cup. I used a Canon 10D with my 100-400 lens. I took about five hundred pictures and about a hundred were worth pursuing.

Several ways to do it for a Post: one of these will put the pic or link in the text anywhere you choose.

1. If the image is online , Rt-click on it & choose “Copy image location”
In the post, goto “Go Advanced” at the replies area.
Above the replies box, click on the little yellow (box with the mountains) “Insert Image” icon. Paste in your link.

2. If the image is online , Rt-click on it & choose “Copy image location”
Type pasteyourimagelinkhere then type so it looks like this with no spaces:
http-etc.jpg
3. Or, just copy the link to the image in the text as in http-etc.jpg This won't show the image, just provide the link.

4. This will attach the pic at the end of the post.
In the post, goto “Go Advanced” at the replies area.
At the bottom you’ll see “Attach Files”. Click on “Manage Attachments”, and navigate (Browse) to where the pic is on your hard drive. Find it & click “Upload”, & you’re done. Remember, you get only 2 pics this way, max size is 800ppi & 100KB each.

The images were on my hard drive and I followed the instructions to the letter and it all seemed pretty intuitive to me too, but nothing happened. I have tried three times now without success, so it cant be that intuitive!
Your points 1 and 2 above both refer to what to do if the images are online. Was this intentional?

Canonfanatic, have you got the file size below 100kb. I've forgotten to resize them a couple of times and they wont upload.

"Pertty intuitive, isn't it!" :D Sometimes I get too clever for my own good, & this is one of them! No, it's not intuitive, which is why I misspelled "Pretty". (Sigh). Sorry about that.

OK, #s 1&2 are 1st because Pekka prefers that we link to pics online to save his server space. He allows uploading pics 'cause some galleries don't allow hot linking, some galleries attempt to resize pics, & some of us have filled up our galleries & would have to delete some pics to make room for more which would break the links to the pics we've put in a "Sticky" somewhere.

I don't know what the problem is with your pics. If they're the right size, #4 should work. They are jpegs, right?

Thanks PhotosGuy for your subsequent comments and thanks RockOne-you were spot on. I reduced the file size of one of my pictures right down and it worked.I will post the other one I promised as soon as I can.

There's lots of action in the 1st shot, but I have no clue if he's doing a stunt in #2, or just bailing out? Keep at it! ;-)
