Here are some pictures from our family's Christmas party. Feel free to add pictures from your family's get together this season.

Reindeer games... Boy's vs. Girls.

Teams had to dress their Santa using the supplies provided.

The girls did a good job with what they had.

Running the relay with bells in spoons...

All shot high ISO no flash. It was pretty fun trying to keep up running room to room in dim lighting and get anything worth keeping. I took about 60 shots of the games and ended up with about 45 I sent to print.

Thanks for looking, comments welcome.

I used a 40d for all of these. I leave the exif in my pictures so all the info is there if you want it. I think these are all at 1600 and 1250 ISO except the one with them making the trees behind their backs. I am pretty happy with the noise levels.

Too cute! So is this a traditional holiday thing for your family.. to play "reindeer games"... It looks like tons of fun! :)

Beautiful family, and you did a great job shooting htese in natural light. The noise at this size doesn't show up at all. :)

Thanks, Kristy. I am only printing them at 4x6 so the size is similar.

Did I pull off fun candid memories of our 2009 Christmas? Or just get a bunch of oof pictures with WB issues?

Just teasing.... :) I LOVE them.. they are so full of life and festive. I want to come to your family party next time. Can I bring the girls and my hubby along? We want to play reindeer games.... hahah..

Seriously... you do a great job with journalism. They are real and believable... not over processed, just natural and I love them as they are. :)

Thank you for saying that. You'd never believe how many different color temperatures house bulbs have from room to room

Thank you, Maureen. I usually am pretty dependent on my flash but I wasn't feeling 100% and my batteries were low in it. I was too lazy to change them and the camera gets heavy and awkward with it on

Thank you. We are having Christmas at our house next year so hopefully it will be a little more tame. My mother in law goes all out at parties.

Great shots...really makes me wish I had a 40d already!

Thank you. You'll like the added flexibility you get with faster lenses. Your pictures are good as is, so you should have a great time with an SLR. (I peeked at the blog in your link)

Thanks, Tim. Hopefully you put on a seminar for us in 2010 and we can chat it up in person.

Thank you. I used my 35mm for the whole night, I was inside with low light so my other option was my 50mm but the 35 gave more room to move around and try to be creative.
