I think i quit bouncing straight off the ceiling because I wasn't liking the angle of shadow I was getting...

Now I usually bounce from a wall behind me, beside me, or if off the ceiling, I do it at an angle so more light fills under the eyes and bangs... if that makes any sense...

These look okay though.. a little hot on the cheeks in the second shot... and the first shot a little more shadow on the boy than I'd expect... but still cute images. ;)

They both look good. The processing on the 2nd shot is great.
Were you using a diffuser or bounce card?

I was a "Flash hater" and these were the first few times I have used it. lol! :DI have to try and bounce it off on the sides and see how that will look like! You're right, it does cast shadows under the eyes.

The shadow on the first is caused by the paper template I put on the lens (for Heart Bokeh) and it was not due to PP. It doesn't look bad in B&W but man, it looks bad in color.

I don't know how to remove/work on the hotspot on the nose in the second photo. I did try the recovery in Photoshop but that didn't help.

Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it!

I've been bouncing it off a wall or window behind me.. even off the refridgerator works. When you bounce it directly from the side, you get side lighting, so be prepared to have shadows on the opposite end of your frame... ;)
