Very nice, mate. I particularly like #4. Excellent wheel in the air action!

Hi, Great Pics Guys!

I went to Gurston too, my first time at trying to photograph anything I couldn't ask to stand still :) (and first post to a forum). They're not quite up to the standard of some of Brands and Cadwell. The shot taken when the car was most the way up the first straight and fully side on, was supposed to be a bit more 'streaky' - need to work on that panning action!

I don't know how big the files should be to be polite, so I've crunched these down to 640x480ish.

[just had problems trying 800x600 pics - they're too big, did I miss some kind of quota restrictions on uploads? Noticed some users can upload >100K, but I get errors?]

cheers
Phil

First time at a hill-climb. Gurston is a fantastic day out, I just hope it doesn't get too popular :) Although with pics like the ones on this board, I can see it changing...

Wish I could post scratch-n-sniff photos! And sound! the whole experience is great!

BTW , surely it's not too late for you to post, all the pics are different....

cheers

Hey, nice timing Tim! Looks like you, Cadwell and Brands have had a bit of practice .

Sorry if it's bad form to post pics on someones thread, figured it was on subject and not sure I'd put mine up as a thread on their own.

Maybe see you at the next one? I'll be the guy with a small black rucksack, 20D and 75-300 IS (No white lenses yet...)

cheers

No worries Tim and Phil, looks like you two were there on the Sunday. Cadwell, Aggy and myself went on the Saturday

Did someone dump a lot of oil or is all the cement dust because the track was begining to break up with the heat ?

Hi, yes I was there just about all day Sunday. Fab day out it was too.

I'm not sure it was hot enough to kill the track on sunday, it was a pleasant day temperature wise fortunately for the drivers and spectators. A right mixture of moderately dense cloud and sunny spells to make exposures interesting.

I've a couple more that may be worth putting up, but I generally struggled to get interesting viewpoints and/or manage the shooting technique... It's not easy to get sharp and motion effects at the same time :)

all the best

I was there on the Sunday, I couldn't make it on the Saturday :(

The cement dust was being put down due to the track breaking up. It was resurfaced October but it looks like it can't deal with the heat! Then again it was very hot! (Damn the sunburn! )
