I'm an extreme amateur and I've just gotten my first *real* camera 2 days ago. Please critique.
These are a couple of my really good shots(IMO) that I've taken so far.

Good is an understatement...They are phenomenal, especially the second one. I love the detail!

Ditto on the wildflowers. They are fantastic - Tell us more about the settings and setting.

The Damselfly was set at
F4.0 1/640s ISO 50 (P Mode)
I was actually taking waterfall pictures and I saw this little guy and so I shot a quick pic of him. Actually turned out to be my favorite one....go figure
And the Wildflowers were
F4.0 1/500s ISO 50 (P Mode)
There is a field out by my apartment and there was a patch of these wildflowers, I just got down at a low angle and shot quite a few pictures of them. This just happened to be my favorite of the bunch
I did do a TAD post processing on the damselfly pic. There was some highlights reflecting off the water that were blown out pretty heavily and I just cloned them out. Other than that they came straight from the cam after resizing.

I really like the first one. It's so clear and sharp. Very good shot.
I've had the same experience where I have a plan to shoot something, but take a random snapshot of something else that turns out to be my favorite. All the more reason to have your camera handy all of the time. :)

Thank you all for the wonderful compliments. I WISH I would've gotten more of the damselfly's shadow in the frame. That red was showing through the shadow...oh well.
