Look who's in the bird feeder

Yep - It's Rocky, the flying squirrel! And he's bold enought to come within range of the might DO zoom and flash (not to mention the other people, 2 cats and one large dog sitting on the deck with me).

Here he is, just hanging out watching us deck-dwellers:

It was an odd opportunity - the little critter (actually, after putting the camera away, we saw that there were 2 of them) didn't seem too worried about all of us people and animals out on the deck. The two cats were in full hunting stance, but had no chance of catching the flying squirrel, tough it was just a few feet away (they don't really fly so much as they leap throught the air very well from one place to another). The dog was watching, but was really not that interested - she likes here food brought to her. :)

Cool! A flying squirrel! Never saw one of these before although I've seen the flying squirrels with the long tails on TV. Thanks for sharing. :)
