Hi all,

It was really foggy over here in England for about an hour so we rushed out to Flaybrick Cemetary to try and get some foggy shots.. It's harder than I imagined it to be!!

My girlfriend and I strolled around for a short while and then the sun started to shine.. Any C&C and tips on how to shoot fog better is much appreciated.. I think my g/f has a real eye for spotting good shots, she is always on the ball and never stops looking around (I get ignored sometimes ;) )

Here they are:

1 - This one has some texture added to the picture - Not sure if it makes it better or worse.

There is no set PP done here, we just edited them as we saw fit the image. :)

No one commented on these?!! You guys suck >.< don't make me lose faith in this forum.

Seriously, amazing work! Definitely portfolio/print worthy. OK, I really like old cemeteries to begin with, but these are objectively good photographs. Strong composition, fantastic capture of light, good processing...can't find any flaws at all.

Re: texture on first one, looks interesting but my first instinct would have been grey, not brown tones.

Now where's that smiley...

Wow, thanks for the comment. When we move in together (my girlfriend and I) we will be getting stuff printed for the wall.. At the moment we would have to ship it to Australia if we printed it so we are holding fire.

I see what you mean one the first one, but the brown does give me a felling of an old photo stored away in the attic for some time.. I'll try it out when I get a minute :)

Thanks again!!

Yeah fair enough with waiting to print... I hope you guys enjoy Australia. I was actually considering moving to England myself, haha.

I see what you mean with the old photo look, it does look good with brown and fits in with the colour scheme of the rest.

I'm sure we will love Australia. I don't know why you want to move here?! Are you mad? lol.

Trust me, stay in Australia. However, you could just say "The grass is always greener on the other side"

Dang, on one "stroll" you get that? :)
Those are ALL really great shots, I'd love to have seen a cemetery like that, and of course, the fog too, which is rare her where I live.
I think number 2 and 5 would be printed for sure, but then I'd have to print out the rest, 'cause I'd be crazy not to. heh
Seriously, these are really exceptional pieces, and you and your girlfriend are a match, together y'all make a good team.

Are the order of the ones I like best, if that helps.

Thanks! The only thing I don't like in 5 is that branch entering the image to the left. Kind of annoying. lol

3 and 5 are cool

6 really does it for me. Been digging the black and white of late. Too much contrast can wreck a shot. Not so in this case.

well done

Heh, well I am probably going to finish my degree here at any rate. I don't do very well with the heat, it can make me faint sometimes. It's a pretty big decision and still a year or 2 away. I have some family in England, but most people I care about are here and probably staying. It's great apart from the heat though.

I am so glad I revived this thread =D

I don't do well with heat either! haha, but for the lifestyle I think I can handle it! Stayin in Australia, the UK is crap! lol.

Me too, thanks for that! :)

Yeah, I might just move to Melbourne it's colder. Strange how many people are telling me that England sucks, but then i haven't been there since I was a kid and even then not for long.

It does, it's gona down hill a lot over the past few years.. and it will keep plummeting. Stear clear! ;)
