Raw conversion : a suggestion to the web master

Since few days I saw sevral raw conversion challenges and that's a great idea as we can exchange our conversions techniques and improve them. So, why not create a section dedicated to raw conversion ? In this section people will only ask questions about raw conversions and submit conversion challenges. But the rule will be that no post-processing will be allowed outside the raw conversion software. So we will have 2 sections : this one for the post-processing after the raw conversion and the new one for only the raw conversion process.
What do you think ?

I don't like the idea, there are enough forums already. A subforum perhaps? Or just use the existing post processing forum. Just my $0.02

Maybe a "RAW Sticky" where we could link to appropriate subjects (new/already) covered?

For conversion challenges.. may I suggest the very recently added "competition" forum?

For everything else RAW.. this is what Post Processing is for/about.
Tim is on to something here,. we are quickly reaching "subcatagory overload"

Today I have seen requests dfor three new foums.. this one here and two more via PM...
This is in one day.

If every request for s specific catagory to have it's own forum were enacted we would be seeing a new forum heading daily...

There all good ideas.. don't get me wrong,. it's just a matter of whether or not somethings so specific that it can not rightly be posted in one of the other forums.

In this case,. IMHO,. the Post Processing forum is allready made of about 80% RAW discussion.. this IS the forum for such discussions (doesn't stop people from posting there weekly RAW Vs. Jpeg arguments in "EOS" though ;) ) :lol: :lol: :lol:


A RAW info sticky would be a great Idea.... there is allready some of this info in the Tutorials and other "post" stickies.. but we could certainly make seperate RAW info thread for those looking to read up on it.

I do like that they've been moved to the other forum. That way I won't get so many screen-fulls of images when opening a post in this forum.
