Hey folks-
I'm looking for a polarizer for my 50D so I can diminish glare from the tank glass at seaworld. I had a $30 one for my p&s. It didn't seem to make much difference. I can't spend more than $100 either. What are best polarizers between $30 and $100? B&H has this one for $400! I'm sure that would be perfect but, unfortunately, that's way out of my price range. The one I had was an Opteka or something. We'll be going to sea world next week sometime, so I probably don't have enough time to order it online and wait for it to arrive. The lens I'll be buying the polarizer for is a 28-135mm IS and the diameter of the front part is 72mm. What is the best brand to get in that price range?
Thanks!

Stretch a little bit and get this:
http://maxsaver.net/B-W-72mm-MRC-Circular-Polarizer-Glass-Filter-NEW-F-PRO.aspx
Currently out of stock, but I would expect in soon. You want MRC or equivalent.
IF $$$s are REALLY a priority, you could get this http://maxsaver.net/Hoya-72mm-PRO1-DIGITAL-Circular-Polarizer-Filter.aspx but the coatings are not as good.

Thanks for the links! The only problem is, I doubt I have enough time to wait for online stuff to ship, as the SeaWorld trip is only a week or so away. I need a filter that's available in chain stores that are easily accessible. Would Sears or some place like that have one?

That area isn't far from me. I'll see if I can't talk my husband into stopping by there before we go to sea world. Thanks!

Got my polarizer. I scored a used one worth around $70 new for $37. There's a small photography store in town. The brand is Quantaray. The only weird thing about it is the ring doesn't rotate independently. It always unscrews it when I try to rotate it. I'll have to be careful so I don't drop it. It seems like there's enough threads to hold it in place while I'm rotating it. Is there any way to fix it so the ring does rotate freely?
This polarizer was the best I could do. I figured even with the rotating problem, it was still better than anything I could get new for $30. I tested it out on the reflections in the glass display cases at the store and was pleased with the results. I think it would work well on the reflections on the tank at sea world. The owner of this little store is trying to get me to buy a flower hood for my lens as well. Do I really need one? I could get one, seeing as I spent only $37 on the polarizer. So yes or no one the flower hood?
Thanks for your help folks!

If by "flower hood" you mean a lens hood, yes, they do help in terms of cutting down on glare. I would not cheap out and get a third party hood, I would get the Canon one for your specific lens, which from your sig would be this (http://www.amazon.com/Canon-EW78BII-Lens-28-135mm-3-5-5-6/dp/B00009R6V0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1262237798&sr=8-1).
