Shot with a 10D and Sigma 70-200 f2.8. Let me know what you think and how to improve.

Thanks!

Those are pretty good "catches", but do we really need to see all of the stick at the left in the 1st one? I'd crop in on the action.
Some post processing would help, too. You shot RAW, right? ;-)

My bad on the cropping, but that's not a stick. It's part of the uniform. Post processing was with Picasa2. Also, these are jpeg.

Thanks!

For hockey if you want the ice to look really white and the players uniforms to really jump out set your exposure compensation to +2/3 or +1 and they will come out great. This will only work if you can keep your shutter speed high enough :)

Here is regular exposure for reference

And +1EV

Hey Alan.. Long time no see. Nice shots. Where is your son playing this time of year? My son is trying out friday for central states at Affton. Then its up to Michigan State for a camp. Maybe i can get some good pics from that.

Hey Bill,

He's playin in a summer league in Webster Groves/Kirkwood. We've still gotta coupla' games left. If ya wanna stop by, it'd be great to finally meet ya in person! :D

He just finished one camp and will be goin' to Michigan in August for another.

Alan,
Do you use the ISO3200 setting with your D10?

No, I find there is too much noise at that setting...;)
