Trying to start the new year clutter free.....well, as clutter free as possible.

These empty boxes from the camera, lenses and other items are taking up a lot of room.
Do you usually keep these in case you sell an item/lens down the road?
I have read posts where people are selling a lens and a person asked "Do you have the box?" and wasn't sure if I should keep these boxes in case something does get sold.

Having the box does seem to make a difference when you sell used. I had one potential buyer back out because although I had the box, manual, soft cover, and caps, I didnt have the original receipt for a lens I had purchased second hand. There is a certain subset of photographers that are anal retentive about things like that. I'd keep the boxes.

I kept the box for my 5dmk2 and I'm glad I did. I had to send it back to Canon to get a faulty pin replaced - the box/styrofoam offered perfect shipping protection for the camera. (after I put that box inside of another larger box.

Yes, I save all my boxes. Since I am such a rabid consumer, it's a little crazy.

I have all mine neatly lined up on a shelf. Like said before, if ya need to send in for service you already have a box specifically made for what you are sending.

I keep 'em! I try to fit one inside the other or put other excess junk in them.

I have boxes all over the place. I think I still have the box for the grip and the 50mm in the trunk of my car, it's been there for almost 2 years.

I don't have a lot, but what I do have, I have the corresponding boxes. I even have the boxes for my P&S's.
