I posted this in the bird discussion area but figured my question are more directed at accessories.

Sometime in the next six months I plan to purchase a new lens, tripod, and tripod head and QR. I can not stop sitting on the computer for hours at a time researching the right combo for me. I plan on doing mostly bird and wildlife photography, and I think I have found what I want. Any comments and feedback or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. So here we go, lens - Cannon 400mm L 5.6, Tripod Manfrotto 190xprob and the Manfrotto 393 Heavy Duty Gimbal Type Telephoto Lens Support.

Now for a couple questions:

1) I am trying to keep to a lighter tripod because I will be taking it with me on hikes. It is rated to support 11lbs and I calculated my load to be 8.5 lbs (2lbs for 7d. 3lbs for 400mm and 3.5 for 393) Will I have any problems with this amount of weight on this tripod? I think from what I have read it will be plenty sturdy and supportive?

2.) Does the 393 come with the camera QR and balancing plate, or do I need to purchase it separately? Is there another QR I will need to buy to make the camera quick release from the 393 for easy transition to handheld?
