Today was fathers day, I went out to pick up some groceries and on the way home I stopped by a crick to take some pics. Well most did not turn out that well and when I arrived home my parents arrived also for a Fathers Day visit. This is my mom and dad, the last years of their life has been really rough!! My Dad has Asbestosis which contributed to a heart attack, my mother has degenerative disk disease and was just diagnosed with skin cancer. Anyway these pictures turned out the best and are what really made my day.

Dan, thanks for sharing those photos. I lost my dad 10 years ago this June to cancer. I miss him greatly. I wish your folks well and urge you to savor the time that you do have with them.

Thanks everyone I am going to print these, it was a special day. It's amazing how you can take the whole day for granted, take a few picures and they put everything about that day in a whole different perspective.
As Marie says " Sieze the day" life is too short!
Thanks again

Dan,
Great pictures! Thanks for sharing. Its really hard to watch your parents get old isnt it? My folks are getting up there in age, dad has had 2 colon cancer operations and mom has had skin cancer operation once. So I know what you are going thru. What can I say but, spend as much time with them as possible and cherish each minute you can( and take as many pics as you can ;)). Family is everything. Everything else pales in importance. Just support and love them and you have done as much as you can.

Ahh, they'd be proud to have a son like you! It's sad to think so many people take their parents for granted, but it sounds like you really know what's going on in that department!
Lovely shots!
Khiem.

My step-father (though I called him "Dad") passed away back in 1984 (at the age of 52) from a sudden heart attack. My Mom passed away two years ago during a routine (outpatient) heart procedure. She was 66 at the time. It's tough when they pass away so early in life.
Dad's been gone long enough that Father's Day isn't much of a burden now. Mother's Day is still harder to bear, though.
Savor each day with them as if every day was both Mother's Day and Father's Day. You'll never regret it.

Thanks Malcolm.....Tonight after the kids and wife went to bed I decided to go for a few beers, ran into an old friend I have not seen for years. He was pretty loaded and kept saying " life is too short "
He had a brain aneurysm a few years back and I did not know about it, life seems to be teaching me some lessons tonight!!

All the best to you and your parents. Very special photos you posted here.
...what I wouldn't give to have just one more chance to kick it around with my Pops. Eight years removed from his passing and still his shoes remain embarrassingly unfilled.

Dan, I echo everyone's comments. My dad's been gone for 20 years and my mom for 15. Still think about them a lot. You've got the right attitude and the right camera. Keep taking their photos and enjoying their company.

what a beautiful post all over
I wish you and your parents the very best Dan
love is all that matters, but it doesn't always 'happen' as easily as it should for families
thanks for sharing
I think it's what makes the forum so 'real' , what's shown here
