shiato storm

I suspect my 100-400 may need a check-up. Apart from the obvious dust collection device it apparently is there's a few things been playing up recently, particularly the IS. Get it to focus and it wurrs away then there's a sudden 'thunk' and the image jumps sideways/down a noticable amount.
it tends to stick when you tighten up the locking ring, you losen it off all the way but it takes a little bit of a shove to get it going.
Its also started to wobble in its mount what attached to the camera i.e. the fitting of the lens to the body isn't as tight as perhaps it should be. this isn't such a problem when hand holding but tripod mounted and its a niggle I'm not too happy about, you set the angle of the lens with the tripod ring (loosen it off, tilt camera occordingly, tighten it back up) then line up and clink, clunk - I can rotate the body on the lens enough to make a difference especially out at 400!
still, a great lens in - the right hands
how long does it take for canon to service a lens roughly? and I'm hoping it doesn't cost the earth! anyone have experience in this area I'd be very grateful for your input.
