thats pretty clean, but a little too low IMO. now about the pics, love the angles, love the non current style (?) about having the car way too low in the picture frame for no reason, but hate on the first picture how theres a big shadow at the bottom right of the picture. Also, on the rear pictures, you could have turned the car around so the sun was shining on it and not leave a shadow behind the car. Hope that helps

too low, at least for me (not for the car) is when you can't see the tops of the wheel/rim and at minimum 0.5 inch of fender clearance showing, but i'm more traditional (in whatever country) in my taste.... anyway...

i just got my 70-200L as well but sadly its below zero in MN so i cant take photos outside without feeling like im going to die. i like these except for some of the shadows in the first shot and some blowing out issues i see where the sun is really harsh or there is too much contrast.

give the car a bath next time. its not a subaru so it shouldnt be dirty. lol. i see finger spots on the trunk.

Some really nice shots here, however #1 I don't like the grass that covers part of the tires at the bottom, it's a street car, so avoid grass in the shots.

Also the last shot is really over-exposed at the right, you could arrange this if you shot in raw, or even better by taking multiple exposures using bracketing.

Next time remember to move the car so it is in the sun, for instance in the last shot the side is in the sun while the rear is totally in the shade, if you would have turned the car to have both in the sunshine I'm sure the over exposure would have been much less or even completely gone. You've got 360 degrees of space around a car, take advantage of it.

yeah i was thinking damm i should had retaken that shot. the shadow killed it a bit wtih the slight grass hanging like you mentioned.. thanks for the pointers though. will take advantage of it next shoot around. you know your stuff pretty well. i did over expose the lighting on the rear shots because it was blazing nasty where i was pointing the shot.

and srrry i barely started shooting for 2mothns now. haha no pro here The thing is, you've had eyes for years, & should be able to "see" what's going on in front of the camera.
btw seems like you have some issue. we are all here just to show and tell not to flame threads... sigH** haha I guess I do. I have issues with "the car is a bit dirty. haha". I have issues with "I couldn't be bothered to MOVE my FEET! (http://photography-on-the.net/forum/showthread.php?t=536323). haha".
And then, what really makes me go off is, they then say, "C&C welcome!", which I give you credit for not doing.
Some forums are for only talking about how great you think your ride is. We do some of that here, too. But the primary purpose here is to learn how to get better images & when someone says something like, "I couldn't be bothered to even clean up the car. LOL! C&C welcome!", then I question whether they've come to the right place?

first of all agian i never said candc welcomed. it was just other ppl choice to do so. which i appriciate. becuase they want to inform me the information they knew. in your case. assuming that i would be to lazy to move the car was an insult to me. obviously you should had alrdy knew that in the first place. stop talking your crap and move on... you know the whole point in all of this was becuase you had started it in the first place. we are all adults here so keep your highschool talk to yourself.

Shots look ok, as you already stated you are in for some CC.

Probably already have gotten this, but the car is filthy.....and the location isn't the greatest. The DOF is great, just not an ideal backdrop.

Spot on "PhotosGuy", it's threads like this that are the reason why I no longer post in this forum.
It's just another "rate my ride" with ordinary shots that could have been taken with a point and shoot.

Look man whether you want the c&c or not you've posted on a public forum so be prepared to hear what others have to say. If you don't like what they've said then stay frosty, no need to try and tell someone their opinion is wrong. And yes, this is a photo forum, this just happens to be the transportation section of the photo forum.

As far as the photo's go themselves they're alright, not the best but not the worst either. I dig the car, the style is clean. I think the photos would look better if the car were washed because you can see finger prints on the rear trunk lid along with the back right quarter of the bumper. I'd also be a little careful because the photo with the back of the car has the white balance blown out and it's a little hard to tell where the top of the car ends and the sky begins.

Take it for what it's worth though, I think the photos are decent and it's a clean looking car. I'd love to see more of it after a wash & fresh wax, I'll be she shines up really nice.

So, that all being said... You got yourself a new lens! Great. Nice lens, I have one myself. The problem with that lens of your's is that it is super sharp and it will see all the imperfections of the world. Or the dirt and finger prints you leave on your car. ;)

As for your photos, what f stop did you shoot these at? You need to think about backgrounds as well as the subject because the BG can and will distract from the subject. Whether it's in focus or not. The houses are OK, but it seems like you shot the lens a bit too stopped down to get more of the car in focus. But all that really did was not blur the BG as much as that lens can.

Also, gdusek84 covered this, but that little tiff you had with Photosguy, that was really out of line on your part. If you haven't figured out by now, he is one of the more senior and most experienced people on this site. I think you really messed up rubbing him the wrong way. He has more talent shooting cars and more to offer you when it comes time to ask, "How do I ..." than you will ever know. Christ, did you see his post numbers? He knows his shiznit when it comes to pointing a camera at a car. If I were you I'd say sorry to him, grow up a bit and act like a man.

We all come to this site to learn more about the art and science of taking great images. It's really not a Ride pimpin' tour. Sure, show off your car, but keep it about the photos and less about how cool you think your car is. Not everyone here like Hondas with red badges on them, but we all like photography and a nicely crafted images.

Hopefully you stick around and learn some more!

So we are all in agreement that this is a photography forum? (Completely kidding)

What you have experienced here is a very rough relationship between people who shoot for fun that are less worried about perfection and pros/semi-pros that are perfectionists.

The hobbiest and most p&s owners have a mindset that they are just pictures and that they aren't too bad. Where as the people that do this hobby for a living or would like to, try to make every image as good as possible. Whether it be by moving your feet, waiting until sunset, or cleaning your car (which is a sweet car btw), perfectionists are going to give perfectionist advice.

I would simply brush it off. So what if someone you will probably never meet disagrees with you photography? I wouldn't let it get to you.

Clean ass car, good shots, and I can't wait to see some more shots of it.

photosguy just loves to sit on his high horse. get used to it.....

photosguy: he said they were test shots for the lens. maybe composition wasnt his biggest concern. maybe he was testing the sharpness of the lens. he does have a reason to feel a bit offended. your a mod.... your not supposed to insitgate further.

if the both of you want to continue the arguement please do so in the form of private messages. this thread is getting bumped way too much for its content.

your going to need to learn to take peoples comments and not get upset. people are going to both like and hate your photos. its a matter of taste and everyone things theirs is best. some people love to over evaluate every photo but get totally upset when others give them advise or good questions of their photos. there is always something that couldve been done different.
