View Full Version : My dog, Kira

My dog Kira is a little weird... She *hates* the rain - a few sprinkles and she bolts for the house, cowering the entire way. But when I try to water the lawn she goes ballistic, attacking the stream of water. It's quite the game for her.

Here she is waiting for the stream of water - if I wait more than a few seconds she starts barking her fool head off.

And the attack! Looks pretty fierce, huh?

She loves to jump to catch things.

Sometimes she just jumps to look pretty.

And other times she jumps with serious fury! Her rear feet were a couple feet off the ground here.

In case you're wondering, that is one *serious* cable she's tied to. She just laughs at the normal stuff. I'm pretty sure she won't snap this cable. I hope...

Scottes--

  Those are great shots! The last one especially--pure bliss for her.

And yes, that is one serious piece of cable, but I know what you mean. I have had dogs that can rip open their chain link kennels with their teeth and escape. (usually because of thunder or fireworks). It is unbelievable how strong their jaws are--even the average dog.
Thanks for sharing her pics!

Scott....

Why does it not surprise me that you would have a dog that's 'a little different.'

I know how powerful these guys can be. I once had a shephard mix that destroyed a home-made concrete lawn roller. She was very proud of herself.

I dunno, sems like pretty normal behavior to me. :):):):):)
She is a cutie Scott. You should bring her to the next GMOS:)

Very cool shots Scott. That second she looks down right vicious. The rest just plain cute.:)

Sounds like she's a very smart dog to me, Scott. She figures with rain, there are just too many of them rain drops to tackle all by herself. But the water drops from the hose, heck, they're no match for her as she can just rip them apart to droplets!

I'm not so sure about that. I can beat her at checkers almost every time, and checkers ain't that tough.

Yeah, but you cheat a lot when Kira isn't looking or is distracted by that dog biscuit you hold in your outstretched arm (to the side).

Awesome shots, Scottes.

Your dog certainly has a unique personality.

So of course you make it a point to water the lawn often so you can get those fantastic shots.   Great series.

Shepards are great.

Unless you're a meter reader or mail carrier. And I used to be a meter reader in my previous life. :)

Actually, I enjoy dogs, and I admire the larger dogs because there's usually little doubt as to how they feel about your presence when you're in their yard.

Nice shots - tough to capture sometimes.

Fun photos that look pretty good. Reminds me of one of our pups. Every time the fairway sprinkler came on she would chase the water. Problem was she would chase it until she dropped....
