I was racing primarily, but did manage to snag a few pics with the 300 f/4 in between and after my runs.
Please pardon the lack of processing, and the company watermark. I have them up on my MTB site and they will appear all over the place if I don't do it.

Very nice, I like the dirt. Could you try to edit out the reflection off the helmet though? That may help.

Thats crazy!! Must have been hard to take the picture while you were racing too..!! :p
But seriously, that's a good capture! Is that cropped? Cus his missing left arm detracts from the shot IMHO.

Not cropped, just a quick grab with the 300. I was limited to time and and position, so i just grabbed what i could in what little riders remained to come down the mountain after me.
Here is the rest of him...

I think the crop is fine, as well as the reflection on the helmet. I actually prefer crops where bits of the body are out of frame. I think it makes for a more dramatic, high energy shot. I'm sure a version with some sharpening and levels adjustment is really dynamite. Good work!

Thanks for the kind words. I agree ont he crops and reflections as well, actually participating in the sport as well gives me a good understanding of what is going on in the photos that makes me appreciate them more. I feel the speed/roughness of the course and pain ont he riders face are much more visible in those types of pics.
