I usually shoot on my own, but a week ago I was fortunate enough to have a photographer call me and ask for my help on a wedding yesterday. It was amazingly fun:

I checked out your flickr images and they are terrific. I've been shooting weddings for 30+ years and it is clear you have a good eye for composition. Keep up the great work. I have a feeling you are going to have a long and successful career in photography. Good luck!

Thank you so much George, I have been real fortunate to have a short learning curve with all of this and bought my first DSLR exactly a year ago today. I have worked with some amazing photographers and hope to be terrific one day.

would like to see a tighter crop on the first one.
the second one, at first glance I liked better. I like the high contrast. looking twice, not so much. some will jump on you about the blacks in this image and losing detail. That doesn't bother me. The way overblown highlights kill it for me. Also, I know the image was meant to be tilted, but I would like to see it with the wall he is leaning against being vertical if you are going to have part of her dress cut off. If all of her dress was in, the tilt wouldn't bother me so much.

I love the first one! I may agree about a tighter crop. Great images on Flickr!
