Please critique but remember I am a beginner. I have been working on my post processing skills and I hope it shows. I already know that the small flower is slightly out of focus(can't do anything about that now).

Could you post the original so we can see what you did with PS?

Sure thing. This was a very bright too sunny day. My shadow is over the small flower in the corner and the other 2 were too bright and all washed out. Fortunately I shot in raw but still was not happy with the uneven results so I processed 2 copies, one over exposed and one underexposed then put them in 2 layers in PS and and erased with low opacity until I got what I wanted.
This is something I learned to do from this forum. It is my first attempt and I am sure I will get better with practice.

I really like what you have done with the image - the one thing that possibly lets it down is the DOF (depth of field) ie the background would look better out of focus.

I like it too, great colours and I don't think the small flower being out of focus slightly is distracting or detracting. I think the comment re the depth of field is accurate, it would be interesting to see what it would look like with a post processed gaussian blur on the background maybe. :-)

Post processing is a great tool, but in the future, why not get on your knees & move in on them? A closer shot at a longer zoom would solve the in focus background problem which isn't that bad here, but could be better. ;-) And, it might not be a bad thing if the outside flowers were a bit OOF either. Digital film is cheap. Shoot lots & see what works the best.

Charlene. I think this photo is absolutely gorgeous and would be proud to be able to claim it as mine. Keep up the good work.
By the way, I think the DOF is perfect.
