Will try and get straight to it, as I know this is probably a question asked often...

Looking for a decent tripod that will support a 40D. I have/will be getting the 70-200 f4, 50mm 1.4, and Sigma 10-20 f4-5.6. Looking to spend about a $100, give or take $20ish. Something that is somewhat light is a plus (won't weigh down my backpack horrendously, Computrekker AW), but mainly just needs to support what I said above, but still has a nice build quality. Main purpose is for shooting landscapes where terrain might be a little uneven, or sports/portraits where I want a versatile tripod.

Was looking at the Calumet 7300 as it was in my price range and came with a vertical/horizontal head already. Seemed decent in the store? Anyone have any experience?

Feel free to recommend anything else.
Thanks ahead of time for the help.

How light is it? Easy to fit on a backpack?

I did not buy this for a backpack, but not too heavy for me and I don't hike either. But Yes, I think it can be attached to a backpack.

Here is the Tripod specs link:

So judge for yourself if this is what you are looking for.

Anyone have experience? Would it support the 40D + 70-200 f4 and possible flash?

At one time when i was looking for a portable tripod, I have taken a look at that tripod. yes it will support your combination, but not sturdy, so for DSLR and heavy lens I will not recommend it. Personal opinion though.

I also looked at this tripod and it's really sturdy and nice but not too tall for a tall guy like me, so I did not get it. but if you are not that tall,
then it should be good or you. I was looking for a tripod that I do not have to extend the center column to fit my height, due to sturdiness.
So, take a look at this:

Anyone ever used the Benro Travel Angels? Which size would fit me best? Little more than I'm looking to spend but if they're nice, I'd be willing to spend the extra for the small compact travel size.

Small and light, without giving up stability, gets very expensive.

I used to own a Velbon El Carmagne that was Carbon Fiber. Was stable and light because it was CF. Not too compact though, so would need to be strapped to a backpack. Was selling for around $100 at best buy, but they don't seem to carry them anymore

Hmm but flip 3way style head.. of a ball head? is one better than the other?

I personally and having no issues with my 30D and grip sitting on an inexpensive Wallmart one... I never leave its side, but it supports it and doesn't seem unstable at all. It was like $40 I believe? not saying to go with that one lol just saying.
