I would be pretty happy too in his position, as well :D ...
don't know about my neighbours, though
Is that contraption a groundcar of some sorts?
Does it actually move? Or is the sight, sound and smell enough to make the man happy?
Best regards,
Andy

It is a demonstration of the Rolls Royce Merlin engine that sat in the Spitfires and Lancaster bombers in WWII, for many people it is the only way to hear its unmissable sound now with so few of the aircraft now in flight :)

I'd be happy as well if I had a Merlin that runs sitting on a trailer (or where ever).
That engine has to be worth some BIG BUCKS. :D
I would love to had the chance to hear it run.

That is beautiful. As I recall some P-51s were equipped with Merlins instead of Allisons. Great motor.

Nice shots, and a nice gallery too
Brings back a few (lot) of memories, I used to live 2 miles form newark air museum and spend many a weekend there. Learned to fly gliders on the airfield next to it (looking at it now it is hard to believe they landed the vulcan on that runway!).
Really must get back there, looks like there have been some serious additions since I last went!
