What a fix. I would love a prime 17mm EF Canon lens, of course there is no such animal. I really don't wish to put the near $700 in a 17-40L when I really don't want the added weight and expense for a lens I would, in all likeyhood, just use at 17mm. Tokina makes a 17mm f/3.5 but I really don't care for 3rd party lenses. Canon 17mm FD lenses can be found and as little as I use a wide angle I don't mind the lack of AF and metering (I still have my Luna Pro F and grew up with a Duaflex IV in the 50's). Am I going overboard with this "don't use 3rd party lenses" thing (all my other lenses are Canon "L")? I am open to any and all suggestions (be nice now). Thanks, Craig

Of course, you know it won't be the same as 17mm on the 20D. Other than price, what is wrong with getting a 10-22 efs? Good lens that covers what you need.
