I rather liked these shots of one of the recent test flights of the new wing on the Air Creation Microlight. It turned out to be a poor day for flying - as you can see by the weather, but a great backdrop of sky for a pic. A month later I was up there - in better weather - (as a passenger) and boy what a fabulous experience!
Happy New Year to All and here's to some great pics in 2010.

They're very nice shots of it, & they belong in the "Share" thread. I'll move it.

Great shots Jude. Thanks for sharing. I'm not brave enough to sit in that thing.

Love the first pic. The clouds in the BG look very powerful.

I had to go up half a dozen times before I could take photos - reason being, both hands had a death grip on the seat. Still get a bit nervous in turbulence - but always want to go back up!

Isn't photography so much about luck? I stepped out of the car to take those shots and the sun was at the right angle at the right moment. Pure luck really.

I was using the Canon EOS 500D. Only had it a couple of months.

I would 90% disagree with this. Yes, you'll get your occassional "Wow, didn't see that coming" but with some planning (A Forecast, An Ephemeris, A Compass and A Map) there are lots of ways to "predict" what's possible for a given place and time.
Good Photography = 90% Persperation + 10% Inspiration
Does anyone really think that work like this (http://www.tvrphotography.com/) or this (http://www.airtoair.net/) happens by "chance" or gets "lucked into?" No Way... ;)

I should maybe have said photography is about luck for me! I'm sure most serious photographers do exactly as you've said and get organised - and therefore get consistently good results. For us haphazard opportunists it's 90% luck!

Shutter speed was a little too fast and froze the prop. Slow it down a bit and get some blur next time.
