I've noticed that the ZoomBrowser won't let me upload editted pictures to my S230 camera. Even pictures automatically rotated by zoombrowser won't upload. Is there a program that will treat the camera as a CF card reader?

The reason I'm asking is because I like to edit (sharpen) some pictures on my computer before printing them at Blacks.

Nope, but you can do a lot more with a card reader instead, such as put images on the card without compressing them or having to conform to a given ratio for the camera... and whoever prints your images will be able to read the jpegs fine...

In a similar vine, you can put hundreds and hundreds of compressed images into a slide show that can be played back by your camera with a shareware program that does all the hard work of putting the index etc in Canon format, etc... I think it's called TVWriter, but you need a card reader...

Cheers,
Stuart

Wouldn't it be possible to write a program that would have the camera act as a Compact Flash reader? The hardware and the software driver are already there.

That way I don't have to drop $$$ on a USB reader.

A good memory card reader is cheap. Go to Wally World (Wal-Mart), and you'll find a Kodak multi-card reader that handles three types of memory cards (CF and two other popular types) for under $30. It works lots FASTER than using the camera interface, as well as being far more versatile.
