I am sorry to say this as you have gone to a lot of trouble putting together what I would think is a beautiful gallery
but I had to leave it because I nearly went scatty with all those details sticking to the little 'hand' as the curser moved around the pictures
its most frustrating
I can see that you intended making it easy to read the data for each picture but I am afraid the opposite is happening, for me anyway
I tried a few times but no, and I don't like saying it
but its better to, then just leave your pictures as though they were passed over.

with regards
marie

And I thought Marie had only nice things to say. :)

But she's right, Denis... we visit primarily to see good pictures, not EXIF data.

Too often we focus on the "digital" aspect of photography, and the "info" that the little computer hands to us on a platter, when we should be focusing on photography -- the image, the composition, the mood, the whatever.

There's a good argument to be made to forget film, forget digital, forget model numbers and millimeters and just judge a photograph on its own merits. Did it turn out ok?

But I digress... like Marie, I left the site before clicking on any pictures.

I just look at the pictures, great, but I prefer the B&W gallery :) . Continue !

Concerning previous comments, I think you don't have to take care of them. If we continue in this way, we should not see anything because of the windows, cursor, pointer, textarea, buttons, computers etc etc... Guys that cannot move their mouse from the photographies just to not see what they don't want will be blind to anything. They speak only here too of computer technic, and their rules aren't the only one, when I saw their galery I don't like their presentation too ;)

Keep up the good work :)

Myri.

Yes possible Denis has sent this address over the company and we use all the same address
IP for our outgoing connection. Anyway, Denis I like the images, but I can understand
what previous members said because maybe theyare not so familiar with browser and HTML as you.
Anyway I saw on one the other galerie the same technical description
but just under full width and height pics ;) So you are on the good place too, forget bad critics
and express yourself.

Pfewwwww difficult to write in english. Next Time Denis choose a french one :-)

See you tomorrow.

PS: can we suppress the profil that we need to create to post ? Complicated.

What is the point of asking for people's comments if you are then not prepared to accept constructive criticism?

Personally I thought the photographs were some of the best I have seen - but I did find the floating box very distracting.

Okay, well, this was not posted in the critique forum, so I won't say here that the mouse-over EXIF data detracts from an otherwise nice presentation. ;-)

Instead, I will say that the photos are quite good, although I'd like the pop-up windows to be larger so that I could better enjoy your fine work. The G2 pics are good, but I especially liked your older B&W portraits.

I'm replying here in case you feel slightly uncomfortable that you said anything don
we can do , and you too are only human : )
maybe more so then most, remembering your post after your trip a few months ago, I think it was in sept.
I replied to it at the time as I knew exactly what you meant but I knocked it off.......(my reply)
thank goodness there were others who were kind enough to give you feedback
sorry to say , I got stage fright
'exposing' ourselves like it takes 'guts' of a kind
( for developing : ))

for now I want to say that you made my day......
re comments about photography above.
you who's photographs are just wonderful
I think its very good advice and it was never ever meant to be anything otherwise then sound advice.
misunderstandings in life can cause unbelievable trouble,
and people understanding that is very important

of course I agree with all you say
(do I hear a chorus of > well she would, wouldn't she ??? ) ?

I had an opinion about something I wished to post elsewhere on the forum last week and never did.
.....not always easy

best wishes

marie

DENIS

Well I stuck to the scroll bars and the flow was quite smooth.

It seems to me that you are master of light, color, shadow, and natural spontaneous "takes". As fast spontaneous "takes" they are much better that anything that I shoot.

Even so, a few subjects (e.g. the blue glass with yellow reflections) might be even better with slight adjustments in previews and final placement -- assuming that such an effort does not make things look to posed.

Nice work.

hello

http://www.pbase.com/image/13362913

above url shows part of what I see when I try to view the pictures, the data strip repeated over every picture , non stop moving, and clogging when I move the mouse

data is very important but I would rather it somewhere where I have the choice and not in my face.
my mouse is fine
well. it is with everything else.
trying to stop the data blocking the pictures is the problem here.
maybe its different with various computers.
mine is a dell demension 'william' vixxxc qrv433c
my mouse is harmless otherwise

thanks.

have took off my 'mostly nice' comments which followed that last post here.
not mad about my replies , how I may say something
I was just glad I could see anything ......eventually

bad vibes though from the beginning
just wanted to see the pictures. thats all
why put myself through all this anyway, commenting on something I was irritated by
nothing to do with any photographs but .... 'time'
because , life is too short to stuff a mushroom
......or even a tomato
anyway, the pictures are very nice
